Dr. Dharampal Jain Presents Cheque of ₹5 Lakh to Governor for Social Welfare
Chandigarh, March 15, 2026. Dr. Dharampal Jain and Dr. Asha Jain—Indian-origin individuals settled in the USA—met with the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, the other day. During the meeting, they presented him with a check of ₹5 lakh, intended for the purpose of Social Welfare underprivileged, and charitable activities of the Social Welfare Department.
A native of Kharar, Dr. Dharampal Jain is the elder brother of former Member of Parliament Shri Satya Pal Jain and has been residing in the United States for the past about 50 years. He is currently visiting India on a vacation of approximately 15 days.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Kataria expressed his gratitude to them.
Shri Satya Pal Jain requested the Governor to establish a dedicated relief fund like the "Prime Minister's Relief Fund" to assist the poor, with a view to enable large number of people to contribute to this fund, thereby ensuring that these funds can effectively help in the implementation of social welfare schemes.
